PIONEER PENNOCK FAMILY


1. WILSON PENNOCK (son of JOSEPH & CHLOE (CASTLE) PENNOCK) was born 16 Sep 1769 at Hadley, Saratoga County NY. WILSON served in the War of 1812. He was Sgt. Major in Col. Tucker's 76th Regiment of the New York Militia. They were called out to Sackets harbor 28 Feb to 18 Mar 1813, and 28 Jul to 14 Aug, 1814. He built a limestone house and farmed at Great Bend and later became a Methodist circuit rider, preaching at many locations in the north country. He also traded horses and other livestock on his travels. He died 16 Jun 1867 at Great Bend, Town of Champion, Jefferson County.

He married 14 Sep 1808
SARAH PARDEE, who was the daughter of JOHN & HANNAH (GAGE) PARDEE. She was born 19 Sep 1799 at Dorset, Vermont. She died 25 Feb 1873, at Great Bend.
