Jefferson County, NY Pioneers

PIONEER PENNY FAMILY

1. EDWARD PENNY was born 1794 in England. He, his wife and eldest son emigrated from England to Jefferson County, NY, after 1826 but before 1836. Family stories say that they settled in either Ellisburg or Watertown. I believe Edward had a brother Zephaniah Penny, living in Ellisburg. EDWARD died at an early age, at 42, of causes unknown, so Deloss could very well have been an only child. The family dropped the "e" from Penney when we they settled in Jefferson County. EDWARD died in 1836 in Jefferson County.

He married in England
AMANDA SPENCER who died in 1856. She might have gone with her son to Buffalo. Her place of death is unknown.
