PIONEER SIXBURY FAMILY



1. ROBERT SIXBURY was born 3 Mar 1763 perhaps at sea or in New Amsterdam, present day New York City. Perhaps one of the earliest pioneers in Jefferson County, he visited it at first as a hunter and trapper, and followed that occupation most of his life. He settled on a farm carved out from the wilderness in the town of LeRay, and died in 1855, at the home of his son, ISAAC. He was buried in the Hoover Cemetery, Town of LeRay.

He married, perhaps in Little Falls, Herkimer County NY

BETSY HOOVER who died 10 Jul 1849 and was bried in the Hoover Cemetery
