SOLOMON SPENCER PIONEER FAMILY



1. SOLOMON SPENCER, from Vermont, was born 1807. He died 1892. The family settled into Northern New York before 1840, making the farm in Depauville, Jefferson County, NY part of family history for over a century. Winslow ran the farm when Solomon died, George ran a farm near Chaumont. After 1860, Orrin & Calvin bought farms in Montague, Lewis County, N.Y.

Family is in 1840 Census at Alexandria New York. Family is in 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910 Census (Federal) and in the 1865, 1875, 1892, & 1905 New York State Census.

There are two other Solomon Spencer families in Jefferson County: another Solomon Spencer Family lived in Philadelphia New York before 1850, and yet another Solomon Spencer Family lived in Henderson Harbor New York before 1850. Neither is known to be related.

SOLOMON SPENCER married MARY ANN FIE from Herkimer County, NY. She was born 1815 and died 1885.
