PIONEER TRAVIOLI FAMILY



1. DOMENICKEL/DOMENIC TRAVIOLI was born 29 Sep 1781 in Savoy, Italy. He fought for Napoleon and was captured, taken prisoner by the English. The English offered to let him fight for them in Canada. He chose to go to America, but at the Battle of Plattsburg in 1813, fighting for the British, he went over to the American side and settled in New York State. DOMENICKEL died in 1863 and was buried in Black Cemetery, Clark County, Illinois.

He married in 1819 in Jefferson County
ABAGAIL CHASE, who was the daughter of PARKER CHASE, was born July 21, 1797 Parker Chase moved to Jefferson County, New York in 1818 and settled for a time in Le Ray. Eight of their children were born in Jefferson County. She died in June, 1876.
