PIONEER WHEELER FAMILY


1. DAVID WHEELER (son of JONAS & REBECCA (MAYNARD) WHEELER) was born March 16, 1771, in Rindge, New Hampshire. He came from Richfield, New York, to the town Ellisburgh in Jefferson County, New York, in 1813. A land deed from Jefferson County, New York, dated August 3, 1813, states David Wheeler bought approximately 100 acres of land from Samuel Wardwell for $300. His sons, Silas, David Jr., and Alanson, also owned property in or near the Wardwell Setttlement. Silas Wheeler died in Polk Township, Washington County, Wisconsin.

David Wheeler, Jr. lived in Jefferson County, New York, all his life. He was postmaster at Wardwell Settlement. David died in Woodville, Jefferson County, New York.

Seven of Alanson and Electa Wheeler's eight children were born in the Wardwell Settlement, Jefferson County, New York. Alanson and Electa both died in Concord Township, Dodge County, Minnesota.

Silas and Alanson Wheeler were early pioneers in Fond du Lac and Washington Counties in Wisconsin in 1846.

David and second wife, Nabbie Converse, both died at Auburn Township, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, in 1854. They had no children.
