ESTATE OF ANNA MARTIN

Champion, Jefferson Co., NY



In the matter of the estate of ANNA MARTIN (widow of Joseph) of Champion, Jefferson Co., NY:

MOSES MILLER of Champion being sworn deposed and said that Anna Martin, widow of JOSEPH MARTIN, was a Revolutionary War pensioner of the United States at the rate of $88.40 per annum. She was a resident of Jefferson County and deceased in the town of Champion on 17 January 1852. She left one child surviving whose name was SALLY MILLER who is of lawful age and resides in Champion. There was another child of the deceased in the state of Michigan some five or six years ago it being the last time he was heard from. Sworn to this 20 day of February 1852. /s/ Moses Miller

NOTE: ANNA MARTIN, wife of JOSEPH was born 1759 and died 1852; buried Hillside Cemetery; in 1850 she was in the household of Moses and Salley Miller. CAPTAIN JOSEPH MARTIN was born 1755 and died in 1844, also buried Hillside Cemetery.

SARAH MARTIN MILLER was born in 1785 in Massachusetts and died 1866; wife of Moses Miller; in the 1850 census of Champion, Moses was age 71, b Rhode Island and Salley, age 64. Also in the household: Almira Miller age 30 and Lovina Merrells age 40, both born NY and Anne Martain, age 91, born Connecticut.
