In the matter of the estate of Brooks Herrington of Henderson, Jeff. Co., NY:
On 9 October 1826, Azariah Doane and Abiah Jenkins swore to conduct an accurate appraisal of the deceased's estate.
Henry Keith consented to be the guardian for Harvey Harrington and Harley B. Harrington, two of the heirs of the estate, sworn to on 7 Oct. 1826. On 24 Feb. 1827, before Surrogate Benjamin Wright, Reuben Harrington and Alfred Loomis, two of the administrators of the estate, and Betsey Harrington, administratrix, completed another inventory of the deceased's property. Betsey Harrington, as the widow, filed a petition to open probate and stated that she was his wife. She stated in the petition that Brooks had died on 5 September 1826 and as his widow, she had not received her dower rights; filed on 14 March 1829.
