WILL OF EUNICE PATTERSON
EUNICE PATTERSON of Orleans, age 76 years named her son, FRANKLIN, son, LEWIS ; named her son MASON; her son, JOHN, her son JOSIAH, daughter, SILVEY; and to heirs of her daughter, LODINIA COPLEMON. Daughter, POLLY, to receive parcel of land. Appointed daughter Polly as sole executrix. NOTE: Eunice Patterson was born in Connecticut c. 1774 and is buried in the Grove Cemetery, Orleans, Jefferson Co. NY. Woodruff genealogy states that she was the wife of JOHN PATTERSON. In the 1855 census of Orleans, Eunice was living with Jonah and Mary, who were listed as brother and sister. Next door was Franklin Patterson age 41, and wife, Christianna Patterson, age 42, with their large family. Also listed was AUGUSTA DENINGER, age 23, who was listed as a stepdaughter of Franklin.
Eunice may have been the daughter of JONAH WOODRUFF and MARY OLMSTEAD, also of Litchfield, and early settlers in Jefferson County. Jonah Woodruff was a Revolutionary War veteran.
