In the matter of the estate of JOHN BROWN of Clayton, Jefferson Co., NY:

On 11 March 1841, RHODA BROWN, widow of John Brown, deceased, and LUTHER BROWN, a brother of the deceased, as executors of the will, filed a petition to open probate.

RHODA BROWN, widow and petitioner of Clayton, NY
JOHN BROWN
MARY ANN BROWN
LUCY BROWN, all of Clayton and infants under 14 years, having no general guardian. LUCY BROWN had died since the death of John Brown.

WILL OF JOHN BROWN

JOHN BROWN named wife, RHODA and LUTHER, his brother as executors and trustees of his will. Named his mother, ELISABETH BROWN, and the estate of her deceased husband, ISRAEL BROWN, father of John Brown. Named his son, JOHN, when 21 years. Named his daughter, MARY ANN when 21 years. Named his daughter, LUCY, when 21. Will dated 17 December 1840. /s/ John Brown
Witnesses: RUSSELL W. WRIGHT and ISRAEL BROWN.
Will proved: 11 March 1841.
