NOTE: Will missing from microfilm and subsequent paperwork. However in Estate Papers Box D 1-12, No. 140 it shows a mortgage taken by John W. Devendorf, and Hannah, his wife. The executors of the estate were Abraham G. Devendorf and Henry D. Van Camp. There is a document in that file by Abraham G. Devendorf, that stated : “John W. Devendorf did dispose of his estate as follows: that is to say he gave all his property to his widow HANNAH DEVENDORFF, during her life and after death or at her marriage he gave to his son, JOHN HENRY DEVENDORFF $125. To his son, ALONZO DEVENDORFF $125. To his son, AUGUSTUS DEVENDORFF $125. And the remainder of said estate to said three sons and his five daughters: LOVINA HARRINGTON, wife of DAVID HARRINGTON of Lyme; POLLY VANDERWALKEN, wife of JOHN VANDERWALKEN of Cape Vincent; CATHARINE MATTISON, wife of GEORGE MATTISON of Lyme; ALMIRA EDWARDS, wife of GEORGE EDWARDS of Clayton and SOPHIA DEVENDORFF.” He went on to state that John H. was last in the city of Chicago; Alonzo and Augustus Devendorff were minors living in Brownville with their mother, and general guardian. Lovina Harrington was then deceased. Philo Harrington and John D. Harrington, minors, of whom respectively, David Harrington was their general guardian, are her children and she has heirs at law surviving her residing in Lyme. That Polly Vandewalker lived in Pamelia. That Catharine Mattison was then deceased leaving Albertus Mattison, her child and sole heir surviving her, a minor of whom George Mattison is the general guardian, residing in Lyme. The said Almira Edwards resided in Clayton. That the said Sophia Devendorff was deceased leaving no heirs of her body surviving her...document date: 19 July 1857 Signed by A. G. Devendorff
