On 18 March 1848, DANIEL WALRATH of Le Ray petitioned to open probate as sole executor of the will.

CATHARINE HOOVER, wife of ELI HOOVER of Brownville, NY
BETSEY BURNE, wife of JOHN BURNE of Openheim, Fulton Co., NY
NOTE: In early paperwork in the estate file, Catharine Hoover and her husband Hoover of Brownsville as heirs; Betsey Praim and her husband John Praim of Openheim, Fulton County, NY. In another later paper, Cath Anne Hoover and her husband Eli Hoover of Brownville, Jeff. Co. and Betsey Praim and her husband John Praim of Oppenheim, Fulton Co. In the final version, attached to the will, it could be either Praim or Burne. In the will his wife's name is spelled Katherine, with a K, not C.

JOHN WALRATH named his son, DANIEL. Named his son, PETER WALRATH. Named his son, JEREMIAH WALRATH. Named his daughters: NANCY, CATY, LAURA, MARY and BETSEY. Appointed son, DANIEL, as executor of the will. Will dated 26 February 1848. /s/ John G. X Walrath (his mark)
Witnesses: A. M. HARGER of Pamelia and PETER HOOVER of LeRay, NY
Will proved: 12 April 1848.
