On 29 August 1840, ANNA LEVERMORE, widow of LEVI, deceased petitioned to open probate. She stated that Levi had deceased the 15th day of September 1837 and had appointed Anna Levermore and NICHOLAS VAN SCHAICK as executors of his will.

Anna as general guardian of children who are still infants.
WILL OF LEVI LEVERMORE/LIVERMORE
LEVI LIVERMORE of Hounsfield named executrix, wife, ANNA LIVERMORE. Named his children to receive equal shares but not named individually. Appointed Anna as guardian of the children. Named NICHOLAS VAN SCHAICK, his brother-in-law, as executor. Will dated 15 Sept. 1837. /s/ Levi Livermore.
Witnesses: ELIAKIM ROOT of Hounsfield and EBENEZER ALLEN of same.
Will proved: 14 September 1840.

NOTE: The spelling of the last name appears both as LEVERMORE and LIVERMORE in all of the documents in this estate. Levi Livermore died 25 Sept. 1837 at 41 years 8 months and buried in Dexter Cemetery, Jefferson Co., NY. ANNA WARREN (VAN SCHAICK) LIVERMORE, wife of Levi, born 22 Feb. 1800 and died 4 April 1903 at 103 years; buried Dexter Cemetery.
