In the matter of the estate of LUCINDA KEYES of Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY: On 3 March 1855, PERLEY G. KEYS of Watertown, petitioned to open probate.

LUCINDA KEYES directed that at her death her body to be deposited in a tomb for such period of time as will effectually preclude all possibility of its being used by the surgeons for dissection, and that it then be taken and buried by the side of her deceased husband; that a suitable marble monument be erected in her memory. She named her grandson, RICHARD G. KEYES. Named her friend MRS. SOPHIA PADDOCK, wife of LOVELAND PADDOCK, ESQ. Named her friend, MRS. BETSEY McCAIRN. Named MARIETTE MEEKER to receive some jewels and a gold ring that were her daughter, MARIETTE's, in her lifetime. Named MARRIETTE CAIRD and MARIETTE EVANS, silver teaspoons which had belonged to her daughter Mariette, marked with the initials of her name. Named Almira Meeker and Janett Wiley, her deceased sister's daughters, and LYDIA CAIRD and PERSIS EVANS. Silver thimbles to LUCINDA HINDS' two daughters. Gave MARIETTE EVANS all of her old novels. ALMIRA MEEKER, JANITT MILEY, LYDIA CAIRD and PERSIS EVANS each to receive ten dollars. Appointed PERLEY G. KEYES as sole executor. Will dated 8 December 1844.
