On 2 June 1843, ALDEN ADAMS of Antwerp petitioned to open probate on the estate; that he and BETSEY BROTHERTON, the widow, were executors of the will. Othenial died 29 March 1843.

WILL OF OTHENIAL BROTHERTON
OTHENIAL BROTHERTON made his will on 7 January 1843. He named his wife, BETSY BROTHERTON. Named Betsey and her four children: BELINDA BROTHERTON, MARY JANE BROTHERTON, MARTHA BROTHERTON and ELIJAH BROTHERTON. Named his two sons: JOEL BROTHERTON and LESTER BROTHERTON. He then stated that certain parts of the estate would be divided between his four children: BELINDA, MARY JANE, MARTHA and ELIJAH. Mentioned a mortgage of AMOS BROTHERTON, deceased. Mentioned a certain judgment that he held against DANIEL BROTHERTON, deceased. He appointed Betsy Brotherton, wife, and ALDEN ADAMS as executors of the will.
