WILL OF SOLOMON TUTTLE
SOLOMON TUTTLE named wife, MARTHA. Named son, THOMAS TUTTLE to have his home until two youngest sons reached 21 years which were ALBERT and GILBERT TUTTLE. Named son, JOSEPH TUTTLE and THOMAS TUTTLE, his second son. Named THEODORE TUTTLE, his third son. Named CHAUNCY TUTTLE, his fourth son and EUNICE LAUGHTON. Thomas Tuttle, sole executor. Will dated 22 May 1830. /s/ Solomon Tuttle. Witnesses: WILLIAM COFFEEN, HORACE KELLOGG and HENRY TUTTLE
CODICIL TO WILL OF SOLOMON TUTTLE:
Enjoins son, Thomas, to sell by consent of Martha, his wife, land to pay debts. Albert and Gilbert each to have a featherbed and bedding when they were 21 years of age. Dated 3 August 1830, /s/ Solomon Tuttle Witnesses: HORACE KELLOGG, THOMAS TUTTLE, CHAUNCEY TUTTLE Will proved: 8 November 1830.

NOTE: Solomon Tuttle was a Revolutionary War veteran and according to his will, his wife was named Martha. The weekly newspaper had his date of death as 28 August 1830, which coincides with his will. He was buried in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Rutland. See Jefferson Co NY Fonda List. In Migrations No. 63, Solomon Tuttle was born 31 March 1762 in Brattleboro VT; his date of death was from the Fonda list, but his will was dated in May of 1830. His first wife, whom he married on 10 June 1781, was SARAH MATTHEWS, daughter of Thomas and she died 25 Sept. 1808 at 45 years. His second wife was probably MARTHA ALEXANDER.
