On 17 September 1851, STEPHEN JOHNSON and MINERVA H. JOHNSON of Clayton, NY petitioned to open probate. ELDRIDGE G. MERICK and STEPHEN JOHNSON with MINERVA H. JOHNSON were the executors.

MINERVA H. JOHNSON, widow of the deceased
GERTRUDE L. JOHNSON
ALICE M. JOHNSON, only next of kin; children were both minors.

SYNDNEY P. JOHNSON made his will at age 34. Named his wife, MINERVA H. JOHNSON. Named his daughters, GERTRUDE L. JOHNSON and ALICE M. JOHNSON. Appointed his wife, MINERVA, as executrix and STEPHEN JOHNSON, his father, and ELDRIGE G. MERICK, his friend, as executors of the will. Will dated 27 March 1851. /s/ Sidney P. Johnson
