CHARLES RICHARDSON of Watertown petitioned to open probate on 27 January 1852 and stated that Tilley had left a will.

WILL OF TILLEY RICHARDSON

TILLEY RICHARDSON named his brother, EZRA RICHARDSON, of Utica, Oneida Co, NY, if he survived Tilley. Named NANCY PADDOCK, his daughter, widow of JOHN PADDOCK, deceased. Named son, JOSIAH RICHARDSON. Named children of TIMOTHY HUNGERFORD, who were the children of deceased daughter, POLLY HUNGERFORD. Named daughter, HEPSEBAH, wife of JOSEPH SHELDON. Named daughter, POLLY, wife of EDMUND MANTLE of Watertown. Named daughter, HARRIET R. MORGAN wife of CALEB B. MORGAN. Named son, JOHN RICHARDSON. Named his children to wit: NANCY PADDOCK, JOSIAH RICHARDSON, HEPSEBAH SHELDON, POLLY MANTLE, HARRIET R. MORGAN and JOHN RICHARDSON and to the children of his deceased daughter, POLLY HUNGERFORD so that each of the children would have one-seventh of his estate. Will dated 23 August 1845. /s/ Tilley Richardson. Witnesses: LAWRENCE J. GOODALE of Watertown and AUGUSTUS GOODALE of same.

CODICIL TO THE WILL OF TILLEY RICHARDSON:

Whereas his brother, EZRA RICHARDSON, had deceased since the date of the will, the money $200, would become part of Tilley's estate. Since the date of the will, daughter, NANCY PADDOCK, had deceased. Her portions of the estate to go to her heirs, but the share that would belong to HENRY PADDOCK, son of Nancy, would be set off at Tilley's death against Henry, and Henry was not to receive any part of said share, provided he should owe Tilley more than such share is worth. Named CHARLES RICHARDSON, son of JOSIAH RICHARDSON as co-executors.
Codicil dated 26 Dec. 1848. /s/ Tilley Richardson.
Witnesses: CATHARINE M. PECK and L. J. GOODALE of Watertown, NY; at the proving of the will, Catharine had married MAYNARD ADAMS of Watertown.
Will proved: 18 March 1852.

NOTE: Tilley Richardson died in 1852 at 93 years and is buried in Watertown, NY. His wife, Mary, died in 1839 at 77 years 8 months and is also buried in the Brookside Cemetery in Watertown.
