JEFFERSON COUNTY, NEW YORK

ESTATE OF WILLIAM WARREN

Jefferson Co., NY

In the matter of the estate of WILLIAM WARREN of Petersburg, Virginia:

Petition to open probate brought by ORRIN RICE of Cape Vincent, Jefferson Co., who was a creditor of the late William Warren. Petition dated 22 November 1887.

Orrin Rice stated that Mrs. William Warren, wife of the deceased, was of Gulong Colony, Victoria in Australia. She and the deceased had lived apart upwards of two years but there were three children from the marriage and he knew nothing more. William Warren owned personal property in Jefferson County which was appraised by ORRIN RICE, FRANCIS A. RICE of Cape Vincent and A. K. TUTTLE, with an estimated at $1,700. By 18 February 1889, HELEN WARREN, ALEXANDER WARREN and WILHELMINA WARREN of Western Beach Gulong, Victoria Australia, were asked by the Probate Court to be part of the proceedings. Orrin Rice informed the court that Helen Warren was the widow of William Warren and Alexander and Wilhelmina were the children of that marriage, and all of full age. Helen received about $170 from the estate and each of the children received about $20 each.
